What is a recovery and repair disk
Major PC manufacturers no longer give customers a real Windows 7 installation DVD along with their purchase of a computer.
A Windows 7 installation DVD can be used to recover your PC, not just install a Windows 7 copy. The DVD has a “recovery center” that gives you options to Automated Recovery (attempts to fix automatically any errors found), System Restore (restores your computer to the last working state) or you can access a command-line for advanced recovery options.

Tip: The 32-character series of numbers and letters is different for different users.
Files need to be copied to the boot subfolder of the Win7 folder:
- C:\Windows\Boot\DVD\PCAT\en-US\bootfix.bin
- C:\Windows\Boot\DVD\PCAT\BCD
- C:\Windows\Boot\DVD\PCAT\boot.sdi
Tip: For the first file, if you are using other languages, just change the en-US into the language you use. For example, if you are using French, the first file you should copy is C:\Windows\Boot\DVD\PCAT\fr-FR\bootfix.bin.
Finally, in the target USB disk, rename the BCD file to bcd and the winre.wim to boot.wim.
Tip:
- To open the Recovery folder and copy the wim files within it, you need to take ownership and change permissions of the folder. By default, you have no right to access it even if you are the administrator.
- You may need to unhide the hidden files if you can’t find any of the above files. In Windows Explorer, click Organize in the upper left and select Folder and search options. In the popup, choose the View tab, select Show hidden files, folders and drives, and check Hide protected operating system files.

One of the best features of Windows 7 is that it lets you create a repair disc so that you can use it when you encounter problems with the installation. You can use this recovery disc to access system recovery options.
We have already covered how to create a system repair disc in Windows 7. Unfortunately, Windows 7 doesn’t allow you to create a bootable USB flash drive. So, in this guide, we will show you how to create a bootable Windows 7 recovery USB flash drive.
The procedure is simple and pretty much similar to our how to install Windows 7 from USB flash drive guide. And the best thing is that you don’t need a Windows 7 installation DVD to create this recovery USB drive.
Repairing Windows 7 from a USB flash drive
Method 1:
1. Type create system repair disc in Windows 7 Start menu search box and hit enter.
2. In the resulting dialog box, select your DVD drive. Insert a blank DVD into the DVD drive and then click Create disc button to start creating your Windows 7 repair disc. Wait for a few minutes to complete the burning task.
3. Once you have your Windows 7 repair disc, you can now create a Windows 7 recovery USB drive. Plug your USB flash drive and make sure that you have no data on the USB drive as we are going to format it.
4. Open Command Prompt with administrator privileges. To do this, type CMD in Start menu search field and then hit Ctrl + Shift + Enter. Alternatively, go to All programs, Accessories, right-click on Command Prompt and then select Run as administrator.
5. In the command prompt, you need to execute the following commands.
Type DISKPART and hit enter.
Now, type LIST DISK and press enter to see the list of disks attached to your computer. In the next step, you need to select your USB flash drive that you are using to create system recovery drive (in this example, we are selecting Disk 1).
From now on, type all the following commands one by one and then hit enter (again, please make sure that you are replacing the DISK 1 with your Disk number).
SELECT DISK 1
CLEAN
CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY
SELECT PARTITION 1
ACTIVE
FORMAT FS=NTFS
(Format process may take few seconds)

6. Now, insert the previously created repair disc and copy all the contents (contains three items) to the USB flash drive. You have just created a bootable Windows 7 recovery USB drive. Good luck!
Method 2: Users who don’t like to burn a DVD can refer to this method.
1. Download Windows 7 Recovery Disc ISO file.
2. Follow the procedure given in step 4 and step 5 (under Method 1).
3. Extract the ISO file contents using WinRAR or 7-Zip to your USB flash drive to create your USB recovery drive.
4. Before you restart your PC, you might need to enable USB booting feature in the BIOS settings.

Тест сборки Windows 11 x64 21H2 Compact & FULL 22000.318 сравнивая с Windows 10 x64 IoT-Enterprise LTSC 21H2
Ну и сперва протестил капризную Far Cry 3(Лицензия), на двух сборках игра шла плавно, но главное подчеркнуть хотел, что на Win11 игра шла лучше примерно на 5% лучше (в плане фпс и frame time).
Сама сборка без лишних процессов и DLL (скрины будут приложены) Интерфейс шустрый как и сама винда, файл подкачки работает адекватно (вот на некоторых сборках от овгорского файл подкачки работает 50 на 50, а иной раз отказывается работать когда проект требует +8 gb ram)
Винда идёт без предустановленного ПО. При приостановке винды на рабочем столе вас приветствует Yandex Broser, я конеш удалил его, рекомендую Edge использовать более для старого железа оптимизирован и удобен.
Итог: есть ли смысл преходить на win11 — нет, если хотите что-то свежее — да
Никакой суперской оптимизации вы не заметите от 10 win ltsc до win 11

Скажу прям ВАУ. Сначала были бестолковые попытки поставить/вернуть Widows Defemder (WD) – зачем? Для себя – так и не поступило ответа. Выход прост до безобразия – Касперский Free на ура справляется с вычисткой уже прилипших вирусов + обновляется + не тормозит в отличии от WD + также бесплатно как WD. Т.ч. всё что вырезано в сборке (и да – перед установкой намеренно снесен яндекс прям из iso и вместо New прописан старый добрый user) + твики – более чем работоспособно: не падает, не глючит, обновляются компоненты винды, которая привита от рождения, никаких танцев с бубном вокруг требования создать учётку у Билла на этапе установки. Микрофон – пока не было потребности, но ранее встречалась проблема на оригинальных сборках связанная с настройками безопасности и конфиденциальности – вероятно в ту сторону копать у кого не работает.

Очень хорошая сборка всем советую создать виртуальную машину на этой сборке и сейчас пишу с ней частота процессора держится на базовой моей например 2.1 Ггц и при перезагрузке все равно будет держаться на этой же частоте. Также убрано много ненужных или лишних функций и работать или играть на такой Windows очень приятно. Советую всем скачать и установить эту классную сборку.

Все пока что устраивает, сборка летает. Комп на ссд запускается моментально. Но один момент, листаешь страницы в браузере, какие то фризы(подлагивания как будто). В яндекс браузере такого нету, а вот на других почему то есть. Почему так? Яндекс браузер сам по себе не очень нравиться, всегда оперой пользовался)

Сегодня установил данную сборку, инсталляция меньше минуты! SSD 486Gb, после установки данной сборки свободно аж 480.4Gb! Т.е. меньше 6 Гб, Карл!А ноут то старый 2015 г. Леново. Активировал успешно КМС-ом без проблем. Установил драйверы аж Двух Видеокарт Intel/NVidia, и на удивление встали без ошибок. Хотя те же Windows 10 постоянно ругались на дрова видюх, вечный геморрой. Перезагрузился успешно и с невероятной скоростью доинсталлировал весь нужный софт. Проверил несколько средних игр — полёт нормальный. Решил поиграться с различными настройками винды, так как выше начитался:) И я вам скажу, ребятки, никаких заминок и трабл! Эта лайтовая Винда шустрая как Понос, щелкает любые программы и утилиты! Ни разу нигде ничего не подвисло и ни единого сбоя.. Меня полностью устраивает, а может просто повезло. В общем, я рекомендую эту сборку
