UPDATE 11/27: We have released the Windows 10 October 2018 Update Build 17763.167 (KB4469342) to Windows Insiders in the Release Preview ring. This Cumulative Update contains the same fixes as Build 17763.107 plus these additional fixes:

• Addresses an issue in Microsoft Edge with using the drag-and-drop feature to upload folders from the Windows desktop to a file hosting service website, such as Microsoft OneDrive. In some scenarios, files contained in the folders fail to upload, with possibly no error reported on the web page to the user.
• Addresses an issue that degrades Internet Explorer performance when you use roaming profiles or you don’t use the Microsoft Compatibility List.
• Addresses updated time zone information for Fiji.
• Addresses time zone changes for Moroccan daylight standard time.
• Addresses time zone changes for Russian daylight standard time.
• Addresses an issue that causes display settings to stop working when changing a multi-monitor configuration.
• Addresses an issue that displays a black screen on some servers when waking a display from sleep.
• Addresses an issue with long delays in taking a photo when using the Camera app in certain lighting conditions.
• Addresses an issue that prevents live Hulu TV content from playing in Microsoft Edge; instead, a black screen appears.
• Addresses an issue that stops Bluetooth® headsets from receiving audio input after several minutes of listening.
• Addresses an issue that causes the Brightness slider preference to be reset to 50% when the device restarts.
• Addresses an issue with the OEM manufacturing processes when running sysprep /generalize.
• Addresses an issue with Microsoft Intune that causes devices to be incorrectly marked as not compliant because a firewall incorrectly returns a ‘Poor’ status. As a result, the affected devices will not receive conditional access compliance approval and may be blocked from access to corporate resources such as email.
• Addresses a performance issue with vSwitch on network interface cards (NIC) that do not support Large Send Offload (LSO) and Checksum Offload (CSO).
• Updates the Wi-Fi policy for service set identifier (SSID) filtering to avoid filtering out Wi-Fi Direct devices.
• Addresses an issue that causes rasman.exe to stop responding.
• Addresses an issue in which regedit.exe fails to add double null terminator to REG_MULTI_SZ values in the Windows registry. The missing terminator may prevent services and applications from reading REG_MULTI_SZ values that regedit.exe adds after installing the operating system.
• Addresses an issue with RemoteApp visibility that may cause the main window to disappear until the user clicks the screen.
• Addresses an issue that prevents some users from setting Win32 program defaults for certain app and file type combinations using the Open with… command or Settings > Apps > Default apps.
• Addresses an issue that may cause mapped drives to fail to reconnect after starting and logging onto a Windows device.

If you installed earlier updates, only the new fixes contained in this package will be downloaded and installed on your device.

UPDATE 10/30: We have released the Windows 10 October 2018 Update Build 17763.107 (KB4464455) to Windows Insiders in the Slow and Release Preview rings. This Cumulative Update contains the same fixes as Build 17763.104 plus these two additional fixes:

• We fixed the issue where dragging (extracting) files from a .zip file in File Explorer to a write-protected location you don’t get a “Do you want to replace these files” prompt and the copy action fails silently.
• We fixed an issue causing roaming profiles to not work correctly.

UPDATE 10/16: We have released the Windows 10 October 2018 Update Build 17763.104 (KB4464455) to Windows Insiders in the Slow and Release Preview rings. This Cumulative Update contains the following fixes:

• We have fixed the issue where the incorrect details were being shown in Task Manager under the “Processes” tab.
• We fixed an issue where in certain cases IME would not work in the first process of a Microsoft Edge user session.
• We fixed an issue where in some cases applications would become unresponsive after resuming from Connected Standby.
• We fixed several issues causing application compatibility problems with 3rd-party antivirus and virtualization products.
• We fixed several issues with driver compatibility.

Today, we are releasing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 17763 (RS5) to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring.

General changes, improvements, and fixes for PC

• The build watermark at the lower right-hand corner of the desktop is no longer present in this build. This doesn’t mean we’re done…
• We fixed an issue where touching a Flash element in Microsoft Edge with two or more fingers could result in the tab crashing.
• We fixed an issue where thumbnails and icons might not be rendered if there were any video files saved to the desktop.
• We fixed an issue where certain Bluetooth audio devices wouldn’t play sound in apps that also used the microphone.
• We fixed an issue resulting in an unexpectedly increased use of battery recently when using certain apps like OneNote.
• We fixed an issue in PowerShell where it wasn’t displaying characters correctly in Japanese.
• We fixed an issue resulting in display scaling factors not being applied correctly (so the UI was smaller than expected) when viewing a full screen remote desktop window on a monitor set to certain display scalings.

Known issues

• Task Manager is not reporting accurate CPU usage.
• Arrows to expand “Background processes” in Task Manager are blinking constantly and weirdly.

As part of the October 2018 Update, Microsoft is now rolling out Windows 10 build 17763 for devices enrolled in the Fast ring of the Windows Insider Program. This is the 36th test preview, and it’s a minor update that only includes a number of fixes.

Windows 10 build 17763, according to the company, fixes problems with Microsoft Edge, Bluetooth audio devices, battery usage, PowerShell, and it resolves issue resulting in display scaling factors not being applied correctly when viewing a full screen remote desktop window.

Although this build doesn’t ship with a watermark in the bottom-right corner, it’s still not the final version of the October 2018 Update.

In addition, Windows 10 build 17758.1004 is rolling out in the Slow ring as cumulative update KB4462120, which includes all the fixes that previously became available with build 17760 in the Fast ring.

Although there are no ISO files for Windows 10 build 17763, the update is available immediately through the Fast ring for PCs. This preview build will download and install automatically on your device, but you can always force the update from Settings > Update & security > Windows Update and clicking the Check for updates button.
