Windows remembers every Wi-Fi password you’ve ever used. That’s how it reconnects to those networks. Here’s how you can view the saved password of any network you’ve ever connected to on your Windows PC.
How to Find Your Wi-Fi Password on Windows 10
The Settings app in Windows 10 can’t directly display the Wi-Fi password of the current network you’re connected to, even if you have it saved—you have to dig for it a bit.
Right-click the Wi-Fi icon on the taskbar and click «Open Network & Internet Settings.»
Scroll down to the «Advanced Network Settings» section, then click «Network and Sharing Center.»
The Network and Sharing Center is directly accessible through the Control Panel, too.
Click the small «Wi-Fi» button towards the middle of the screen to open the Wi-Fi network’s Status window.
Click «Wireless Properties,» then tick the «Show Characters» box in the Wireless Network Properties window that pops up to show your password.
Of course, you can only view the passphrase of the current network you’re connected to in this way. If you want to view all of the Wi-Fi networks saved on your PC, you’ll need to use one of the following two methods instead.
Use NirSoft’s WirelessKeyView to View All of Your Wi-Fi Passwords on Windows 10
You can view saved passwords with built-in command-line tools in Windows, but we recommend NirSoft’s free WirelessKeyView application. It’s a lightweight tool you don’t even have to install to use—just download it, open the ZIP file, and then double-click the included EXE file (if you have file extensions hidden, open the «WirelessKeyView» application file). You’ll then see a list of saved network names and their passwords stored in Windows.
Some antivirus programs may say WirelessKeyView is malware. That’s a false positive, if so—we’ve never had issues with NirSoft’s free utilities. Unlike many modern Windows programs, they don’t even contain adware.
The «Network Name» column shows the name of the Wi-Fi network¡in other words, its SSID. To find the password associated with a network, look under the «Key (Ascii)» column for that network name. This is the password you type to connect to that network.
To back up this information, you can select File > Save All Items. You’ll get a text file containing this information, so you can take it with you to a new PC or store it for later.
Use the Command Line to See Wi-Fi Passwords
Windows 10’s standard Control Panel only lets you see the password of the Wi-Fi network you’re currently connected to. If you don’t want to download third-party software, you’ll have to use command line tools to discover this information.
To find a password on Windows without third-party software, open a Command Prompt or PowerShell window. We’d recommend using Windows Terminal, too. To do this, right-click the Start button or press Windows+X, and then click «PowerShell.»
Run the following command to see the list of saved network profiles on your system:
netsh wlan show profiles
Look for the name of the network you need the password for, and then run the following command, replacing «NETWORK» with the name of that network:
netsh wlan show profile name="NETWORK" key=clear
Look under «Security Settings» in the output. The «Key Content» field displays the Wi-Fi network password in plaintext.
Repeat this process for each Wi-Fi network you want to find the password for.
If you don’t have it saved in Windows, there are many other ways you can find a forgotten Wi-Fi password, including on another device (like a Mac or on an Android), in a router’s web interface, or even printed on the router itself.

Просмотр своего пароля Wi-Fi в параметрах беспроводной сети
Итак, первый способ, которого, вероятнее всего, будет достаточно для большинства пользователей — простой просмотр свойств Wi-Fi сети в Windows 10, где, в том числе, можно посмотреть и пароль. Прежде всего, для использования данного способа, компьютер должен быть подключен к Интернету посредством Wi-Fi (посмотреть пароль для неактивного соединения так не получится, для них используйте второй метод), второе условие — вы должны иметь права администратора в Windows 10 (для большинства пользователей это так и есть).
- Первый шаг — кликнуть правой кнопкой мыши по значку соединения в области уведомлений (справа внизу), выбрать пункт «Открыть параметры сети и Интернет», а в открывшемся окне, внизу — «Центр управления сетями и общим доступом». Также вы можете нажать клавиши Win+R на клавиатуре, ввести ncpa.cpl и нажать Enter, чтобы открыть нужное окно.

Описанный выше вариант позволяет посмотреть пароль сети Wi-Fi только для активного в настоящий момент времени подключения. Однако, есть способ посмотреть пароли и для всех остальных сохраненных в Windows 10 беспроводных подключений с помощью CMD.
- Запустите командную строку от имени Администратора (как это сделать) и по порядку введите команды.

здесь запомните имя Wi-Fi сети, для которой вам нужно узнать пароль.

netsh wlan show profile name=имя_сети key=clear
если имя сети состоит из нескольких слов, возьмите его в кавычки.
В результате выполнения команды из 3-го пункта отобразится информация о выбранном сохраненном Wi-Fi подключении, пароль Wi-Fi будет показан в пункте «Содержимое ключа». Этот способ также продемонстрирован в видео инструкции ниже.
Просмотр пароля в настройках роутера
Второй способ узнать пароль Wi-Fi, воспользоваться которым можно не только с компьютера или ноутбука, но и, например, с планшета — зайти в настройки роутера и посмотреть его в параметрах безопасности беспроводной сети. Более того, если пароль вам неизвестен вообще и не сохранен ни на одном устройстве, вы можете подключиться к роутеру с помощью проводного соединения.
Единственное условие — вы должны знать данные для входа в веб-интерфейс настроек роутера. Логин и пароль обычно написаны на наклейке на самом устройстве (правда пароль обычно меняется при первоначальной настройке роутера), там же есть и адрес для входа. После входа, все что вам нужно (и это не зависит от марки и модели маршрутизатора), найти пункт настройки беспроводной сети, а в нем — параметры безопасности Wi-Fi. Именно там и можно посмотреть используемый пароль, а затем использовать его для подключения ваших устройств.

Method 2: Find Wi-Fi Password of the Current Network Connection
If your current computer is connected to the wireless network, you are not the administrator of the, but you want to know what exactly the password is, you can follow this way to view the Wi-Fi password in Wireless Properties setting.
Step 1: There are two options for you to access Wireless Properties setting.
Option 1: Press the Windows Key and R key to start the Run box. Then, enter ncpa.cpl and click the OK button.
When you are in the Network Connections window, directly click your wireless network connection.
Option 2: Open Control Panel and choose Network and Internet. After that, choose Network and Sharing Center. Then you can see your wifi network and click on it.
Step 3: In the Wi-Fi status, you can click the Wireless Properties button.
Step 4: Then, you need to go to the Security tab, tick the Show characters option and you will see the password immediately.
Method 3: Find Saved Wi-Fi Password through Command Prompt
Step 1: Run Command Prompt as an administrator.
Step 2: In the command prompt, you need to enter the following command: netsh wlan show profiles to get your Wi-Fi name.
Step 3: Enter the following demand: netsh wlan show profile name= Profile-Name key= clear.
Here the Profile-Name should be your Wi-Fi name. And you will get the key (password) soon.
Method 4: View All Wireless Network Passwords on Windows PowerShell
Step 1: Run Windows PowerShell as administrator.
Step 2: Execute: netsh wlan show profiles.
Step 3: Continue to run the following demand: netsh wlan show profile name =”Wi-Fi-name” key =clear. You need to use your real Wi-Fi name to instead the text “Wi-Fi-name”.

Want to connect your smartphone to your Wi-Fi network but forgot your Wi-Fi network password? Want to view the password of the Wi-Fi network to which your Windows 10 PC is currently connected so that you can connect other devices as well? In this guide, we will see how to find the saved Wi-Fi password in Windows 10.
Finding your wireless network password was reasonably straightforward in Windows 7. One had to click the wireless icon in the system tray, right-click on the wireless network name, click Properties, and then check Show characters box to see the Wi-Fi password.
While one can view the wireless network password in Windows 10 as well, the procedure is not the same. You need to perform a few more clicks in order to view the Wi-Fi password in Windows 10.
There are basically two ways out there to find out the saved Wi-Fi password in Windows 10. The first method is to use the Network and Sharing Center, and we use the Command Prompt in the second method.
Complete the given below directions to view the Wi-Fi password in Windows 10.
Method 1 of 2
Viewing Wi-Fi password in Network and Sharing Center
Step 1: Right-click on the wireless icon in the system tray and then click Open Network & Internet settings.
NOTE: If the wireless icon is not appearing in the system tray, please refer to our fix to missing wireless/network icon from system tray in Windows 10 guide.
Alternatively, you can type ncpa.cpl in Start menu search box or Run command box and then press Enter key to open Network and Sharing Center.
Step 2: Clicking the Open Network & Internet settings option will bring up the Network & Internet status page of the Settings app. Here, in the Advanced network settings section, click the Change adapter options link.
Step 3: Double-click on the Wi-Fi icon to see the Wi-Fi Status dialog.
Step 4: Here, click the Wireless Properties button. This will open Wireless Network Properties.
Step 5: Click on the Security tab to switch to the same. Finally, click Show characters box to view your Wi-Fi password. That’s it!
Please note that you can’t change the WiFi password using this method.
Method 2 of 2
Viewing Wi-Fi password using Command Prompt
Step 1: Open Command Prompt by typing CMD in the Start menu or taskbar search box and then pressing Enter key. You don’t need to open Command Prompt as administrator.
Step 2: In the Command Prompt window, type the following command and then press Enter key.
netsh wlan show profiles
The above command shows all saved wireless network profiles on your PC. As you can see in the picture below, there are five saved Wi-Fi profiles on my Windows 10 PC.
Step 3: Next, enter the following command to view the Wi-Fi password.
netsh wlan show profiles WiFiprofilename key=clear
In the above command, replace WiFiprofilename with the actual profile name of the Wi-Fi network.
For instance, if the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) is Office, then you need to enter the following command:
netsh wlan show profiles Office key=clear
The password appears next to Key content, as shown in the picture above.
