Windows.

Both errors seem to refer to permissions errors. Have you ‘messed with’ the «Administrator», «SYSTEM», etc. accounts?
IIRC, Windows Updates’ processes run under «SYSTEM»
I’ve also seen permissions errors on corrupted Windows installs/user profiles… Could be anti-virus/security software being overzealous, too.
Not gonna lie, when issues like this pop up, it’s just more motivation for Yet Another Clean Install.

If by messed up you mean me doing transition from Microsoft log account to local account then that’s all I did, because I got tired of having to put the password everytime I booted into windows
edit: whats the worse that could happen if i dont do a fresh install again?

What is Windows Remediation?
Windows Setup Remediation is a Windows servicing stack update designed to handle update functions, such as freeing up space, ensuring the computer stays awake for updates, and fixing corrupt updates.
What causes Windows updates to fail?
If you encounter an error while updating Windows, it could be due to fundamental issues such as inadequate storage space, or more complex problems like outdated drivers or missing or corrupted Windows Update system files. It is crucial to address these issues promptly, as Windows Update is a top priority for the operating system.

As you do sometimes when you decide to look around your machine and possibly scare yourself
I wondered what RUXIM.EXE was in my Program Files (Win 10)So I followed the trail and found it was Microsoft helping me in my life with security and updates
I landed on this page and did a search for it.https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/w…indows-diagnostic-data-events-and-fields-2004
There is a LOT of info on that page telling you what everything to do with updates and diagnostics is and does. If you decide to read it you will need coffee.

for me its named «RUXIMICS.exe» und «RUXIMIH.exe», not «RUXIM.exe»
i noticed it a while ago, my left alone LTSC do not have it.
same explanation here
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us…w10-21h1/865c5df7-8a18-4478-bfc4-767c12aee33cthe symbol itself looks similar when a restart after update is required.
currently it did not bother me so i left it alone.to add, autoruns did not found any service, but a task «PLUGscheduler»,
path: «\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\RUXIM»
it has 4 triggers.get a try and disable the task, see whats happening, or not when searching for updates.

still disabled, but i found another log folder for ruxim in

For me that log folder contains many entries which first started on the 29th March. They are ETL (event trace log files)

Why you guys so worried about a harmless Windows file? If your going to be paranoid there’s probably another 10,000 or so you can fret about.

Don’t mistake curiosity for paranoia.
Just questioning why it’s only turned up in the last month or so, also it would be interesting to know what triggers it. -
I wasn’t, but your the one who said you scared yourself. I probably should have used a different word than paranoid.

The comment »possibly scare yourself» was not meant to be taken literally
Do you have any instances of Ruxim? -
as written ruxim runs on different task events — and then quits if work is done. i have doubt you will see it if not using tools like process monitor from sysint. the disabled task here like to run next tommorrow, last run was 02-04 when i disabled it. i dont see evidence whats performed, windows update maintenance for what beside windows update itself? windows update is a service, ruxim is «only» a task.

Came upon this thread because I got a popup caused by ruxim. Just registered today to share my findings. Although I feel like since I’m a new user without any reputation the links will get automatically removed. If that is the case I can try to upload the images directly to the forum.
This imgur post is something I personally experienced.

I actually have a couple of hundred of these showing in my Win 10 Event Viewer logs error list.
Session «Microsoft.Windows.WindowsUpdate.RUXIMLog» failed to start with the following error: 0xC0000035
-
if the reliablity graph shows nothing important, then let it go.
this routine observes several other processes, eg: {b675ec37-bdb6-4648-bc92-f3fdc74d3ca2}
and throw an error if it cannot handle it.SFC and DISM wont help you out. if you experience no other real issues then forget it.
for me, in fact i never look into event viewer or other windows surveys until i register a failure. waste of time.

Old thread but I just had another popup of the «Reusable UX Interaction Manager» which is RUXIMICS.EXE
This is Microsoft telling me to buy a new computer because I will want Win11. The only options are «Learn more» (where they will tell me to buy a new computer) and «Remind me later». It’s like MS just keeps pushing me away from wanting to use Windows.

can’t see any evidence. you can block such major build update with GPO/reghack. or use it with 23H2 until 2025.
