Elan wbf fingerprint sensor windows 10 не работает

FINGERPRINT SENSOR ELAN WBF NOT WORKING ON Windows 10 —

Hello,

After an update, the Windows Hello Fingerprint option is no longer available / doesnt work.

Here the info about my pc:

MODEL: HP 15-dw0014nl

Windows Version: 1909 (Build 18363.592)

I went to device manager and saw that there is a problem in the driver ELAN WBF Fingerprint Sensor.

Device Status:

This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)
{Operation Failed}
The requested operation was unsuccessful.

I am no pc expert and apart from checking for updates, I don’t know what to do.

How can I solve the problem? I also tried to see if I could download the driver online in order to do uninstall&reinstall, but I couldn’t find an official website and I didn’t trust sources like softpedia.

Any help would really be appreciated.

I have this same issue. 
After an update hello sign-in is no longer working, the face recognition, the fingerprint or the pin.
The windows options are greyed out I cannot even remove it.

I have the same problem to,

Last night my laptop finger print login was working perfectly fine, and I woke up this morning and it didn’t work.

My laptop model is; ASUS VivoBook Flip 14 TP412UA .

Please help as I start school in a few days!

I’ve the same problem yesterday my mom whit my boyfriend bought me my hp laptop so when I turned on my lap started to downloaded windows 10’s new version (1909) so my fingerprint doesn’t work anymore. Can you help me?, please. Have a nice weekend!! 

I found solution! You either need to update driver through Device Manager to version 3.10.12001.10102 by automatic update check, or update driver by same way (choosing manual update from drive) to version 3.10.12001.10101 (link
to this driver).

Download the latest driver from your computer brand, then go to device manager select the biometric right click it and select to update the driver, when it make you choose how to update select the second option that is to search for the driver in your computer,
it will display the driver, select it and install….it worked on mine.

i have the same problem with my PC and I am not an expert in this field so i don’t know what must i do, anybody can help me please ?

I am not an expert either but will guide you with the steps I did that fixed mine.

First you need your computer brand and model, you have to search in the webpage (or just google it) for the drivers of your computer model.

Once you get there look out for the keyboard, mouse and input devices, the fingerprint reader is an input device so look for these drivers, if it shows just one, download just that one, if you have several…..try all of them…that´s what I will do, I don´t
know if it´s correct.

Next step is to double click it and install.

In my case it didn´t work inmediatly, I had to type device manager so it can open device manager window and there it was my fingerprint reader device with a yellow triangle, I right click it and tell to search in my computer for drivers, and there it was….I
downloaded 2, the good thing is that the first one that I tried fixed it inmediatly, I picked that one and continue to click (next…I didn´t remember) and the yellow triangle dissapeard and the fingerprint reader started to work.
