Основные файлы приложения WordPad находились в папке «Стандартные» внутри папки Windows NT на диске C. Полный путь — «C:\Program Files\Windows NT\Accessories». Все эти папки остались на месте, но файлы WordPad отсутствуют. Их нужно просто снова добавить в папку «Стандартные».
В Windows Latest нашли эти файлы. Скачать архив можно отсюда. Он содержит следующие файлы:

The File Explorer (also known as Windows Explorer) in Windows 10/11 allows users to manage files and folders.
The File Explorer in Windows 10 and Windows 11 is relatively stable. However, File Explorer rarely might not respond or even refuse to open. If you have been encountering issues with File Explorer, you might be thinking of reinstalling File Explorer to resolve the issue.
Does Windows 10/11 support reinstalling File Explorer?
Unfortunately, neither Windows 10 nor Windows 11 supports reinstalling File Explorer. This means there is no straightforward or official way to reinstall File Explorer. That said, there are workarounds to help resolve File Explorer issues.
Following are the seven easy methods to resolve File Explorer issues in Windows 10/10
Solution 1 of 7
Restart the File Explorer via Task Manager
Step 1: Open the Task Manager using the search or Ctrl + Shift + Esc keyboard shortcut.
Step 2: Next, click on the More details button if you see the smaller version of the Task Manager.
Step 3: Under the Processes tab, look for the Windows Explorer entry. Right-click the Windows Explorer process and then click the Restart option to restart the File Explorer. More often than not, restarting File Explorer fixes issues. If the Windows Explorer does not appear under the Processes tab, please open any folder or This PC and then try again.

Check and repair corrupted system files
This method is helpful if File Explorer fails to open or throws an error when you attempt to open it. This method will look for corrupted or missing system files and then repair/replace them. Here is how to do that.
Step 1: Open the Command Prompt as administrator by typing CMD in the search, right-clicking on the Command Prompt entry, and then clicking the Run as administrator option.
Click on the Yes button when you get the UAC prompt.
Step 2: At the Command Prompt, copy and paste the following command:
sfc /scannow
Press the Enter key to begin scanning protected operating system files and replace corrupted files.

Update Windows 10/11 to the latest version
If there are updates available for your Windows 10/11 installation, it’s a good idea to update your Windows 11/10 to the newest version. This might also fix your File Explorer issues.
On Windows 10, go to Settings > Update & Security page and then click the Check for updates button.
On Windows 11, navigate to Settings > Windows Update page and then click the Check for updates button to check and install updates.

Step 1: Open the Control Panel. Change the View by to Small icons.

Files app is free third-party software developed as an alternative for the built-in File Explorer. The Files app has an excellent UI and all the options you need.

File Explorer in Windows 10 has a ribbon, tabs, and a title bar with color. The ribbon includes common tasks, such as copying and moving, creating new folders, emailing and zipping items, and changing the view. The tabs change to show extra tasks that apply to the selected item. You can hide or show the ribbon on demand.
In Windows 11, Microsoft made File Explorer modern with a clean look and brand-new command bar instead of the ribbon.

Temporarily Open File Explorer with Ribbon
This option will open a File Explorer window with the ribbon.
You will be able to browse and navigate in this File Explorer window with a ribbon only for as long as this window is open.
1 Open the Control Panel.
2 Perform one of the following actions depending on which Control Panel view is used: (see screenshots below)
- If using small icons view, click/tap twice on the Up arrow.
- If using large icons view, click/tap twice on the Up arrow.
- If using category view, click/tap once on the Up arrow.
3 You will now have a File Explorer window with the ribbon open. (see screenshot below)
Option Two
Create Shortcut to Always Open File Explorer with Ribbon
You can Pin to Taskbar, Pin to Start, add to Start menu All apps, assign a keyboard shortcut to, or move this shortcut to where you like for easy usage.

How to replace old File Explorer in Windows 11 with the new one
Updated to Windows 11 and still seeing Windows 10’s “dated” ribbon-style toolbar and context menu? Here are the top solutions for the same.
Method #01: Disable ‘Launch folder windows in a separate process’
If you have asked Windows to launch folder windows in a separate process, the 11 will revert back to the old style without any warning whatsoever. To fix this. First, go to File Explorer and click on the ‘View’ tab at the top of your screen. Now, click on ‘Options.’
Once the ‘Folder Options’ window is opened, go to the ‘View’ tab again. Scroll down and make sure the option to ‘Launch folder windows in a separate process’ is disabled. Hit ‘Ok’ and exit.
Restart your PC, and your Windows File Explorer should get the new look.
Method #02: Restart the Windows Explorer
You could try restarting Windows Explorer through the Task Manager. After you bring it up using ‘Alt + Ctrl + Del,’ right-click on ‘Windows Explorer,’ and hit ‘Restart.’
Method #03: Restart your PC
A simple restart goes a long way, and the “hack” holds true for this issue as well. If you do not get the new Windows File Explorer, restarting your PC just might bring it to the fore. Right-click on Start, hover the cursor over ‘Shut down or sign out’ and click on ‘Restart’ after the menu expands.
Method #04: Uninstall Link Shell Applications
Stopping Windows from opening folder windows in a separate process should do the trick. If you still don’t have any luck, make sure you uninstall all shell-extension applications. Have the Link Shell Extension application on your system? We recommend uninstalling it right away.
Method #05: Update graphics driver
If neither works, you should make sure you are running the latest version of your graphics card driver. Click on this link for AMD graphics drivers, and on this link for Nvidia graphics drivers. Restart your PC after installing to see if it works.
Method #06: Wait for MS to fix it in newer builds (Last resort)
Windows 11 is still very early in its development cycle, which usually means there are a bunch of bugs to terminate before the public build is released. We can expect Microsoft to fix this via an update soon.
However, if you come across issues that refuse to be fixed, we recommend going back to Windows 10 and waiting for the official Windows 11 update. It should roll out in the last quarter of this year.

Среди прочих нововведений Windows 11 — видоизмененный «Проводник», который некоторым пользователям пришелся не по душе. При желании вы можете использовать и классический вариант Проводника.
В этой инструкции подробно о способах открыть старый проводник в Windows 11 как средствами системы, так и с помощью сторонних инструментов.
Классический Проводник всё ещё есть в Windows 11 и его можно запустить прямо в системе, но для этого придётся выполнить несколько шагов:
- В меню «Пуск» — «Все приложения» или в «Панели управления» откройте пункт «Инструменты Windows».
- В открывшемся окне «Инструменты Windows» откройте «Этот компьютер» в панели слева.
- Будет открыт Проводник, причем е его старом виде.
Неизвестно, сколько ещё проработает этот способ (предполагаю, что это не было задумано разработчиками), но в Windows 11 23H2 он функционирует.
К сожалению, способ имеет свои ограничения: необходимо каждый раз заходить в «Инструменты Windows», либо создать ярлык для них в удобном месте. Если же сделать ярлык для пункта «Этот компьютер» из указанного расположения, будет открываться уже новый проводник Windows 11.
ExplorerPatcher
Вторая возможность — использовать стороннее приложение для настройки вида элементов Windows 11 ExplorerPatcher. Шаги будут следующими:
- Скачайте последнюю версию ExplorerPatcher с GitHub https://github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher/releases
- Запустите загруженный файл: на некоторое время экран может стать чёрным, это нормально, также вид панели задач изменится (его можно будет вернуть).
- Нажмите правой кнопкой по панели задач и выберите пункт «Свойства».
- Если требуется вернуть прежний вид панели задач, на вкладке «Taskbar» установите стиль Windows 11, а затем нажмите «Restart File Explorer».
- Перейдите в раздел «File Explorer» и отметьте пункт «Use classic drive groupings in This PC», а ниже установите Windows 10 Ribbon в поле «Control Interface». Включите пункты «Disable the Windows 11 context menu», «Use immersive menus when displaying Windows 10 context menu», «Disable modern search bar». После этого нажмите «Restart File Explorer» внизу слева.
- Теперь, если вы запустите Проводник он будет открыт в своём старом виде:
Ключевым для настройки является включение «Windows 10 Ribbon», но без настроек остальных пунктов, например, отключения новых контекстным меню Windows 11, классический «Проводник» может закрываться с ошибками.
Учитывайте, что при выходе новых обновлений Windows 11 часть функций ExplorerPatcher могут перестать работать, такое уже случалось. А для удаления программы и сделанных ею настроек используйте «Программы и компоненты» в Панели управления.
В ранних версиях Windows 11 существовал ещё один вариант включения старого проводника: в разделе реестра
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Shell Extensions\Blocked
можно было создать строковый параметр

и перезагрузить компьютер, однако в текущих версиях системы этот способ не работает.
